Oreo Cookies Dipped in Chocolate

I am obsessed with candy covered goodies right now and why not, they make the perfect favor or easy to make treat for any party.

I’ll show you how to dip Oreos in chocolate with step by step pictures, you can easily whip them up and they’re sure to be a hit with your guests. (especially the kids!)

Supplies needed (see full list below) I’m preparing for a rainbow themed party so I’m using many colors.

Put your chocolate into the bowl, I used half of a bag and it covered about 15 cookies.
Heat up the candy melts in a microwave safe bowl. Follow the directions on the package for melting times. About 2 1/2 minutes in all on 50% power. Stir 3-4 times in between.

Drop a cookie in and push it down a little.

With your fork flip it over.

And make sure it’s covered all around with chocolate.

Then scoop it up from underneath and give the fork a little bang on the side of the bowl to get rid of excess chocolate. And it helps to pop the bubbles too.

Place the cookie on your wire cooling rack, and tap the rack a little to get the excess chocolate to fall down.

If you want your cookies to have flat bottoms then place them on wax or parchment paper instead, but make sure you have most of the excess chocolate off or it will pool around the cookie and it won’t look as nice.

Wait until they dry completely before removing them. To remove them push them from underneath and they will pop off the rack.

Voila! Lovely looking Oreo covered cookies in a few simple steps. Now you’re ready to make your party pop!

Tasty insides!
For storage of the cookies use cupcake wrappers to stack them and separate them so they don’t scuff, put them in a container and store in a cool dry place.
